"All of a sudden you’re on TV and there’s girls, and everyone’s throwing everything at you, literally. I was the oldest one, I was 24 when I joined. So we were still kids, you know. And then you learn to calm down, you learn to take everything with a pinch of salt. You learn that if you have a limo, you pay for it, you learn if you get a record advance, you are borrowing it. And every time you take a flight or a piece of studio equipment, the studios themselves, we were famously going over budget all the time.
So we learned all these things and that really boded well for now." PHIL COLLEN of Def Leppard said.
That was a long time ago though - now, get ready, UTAH! DEF LEPPARD is hitting the stage for the first time in seven years on September 10th, and they're bringing along JASOM BONHAM's LED ZEPPLIN EVENING.
These guys are legends, no doubt. They got inducted into the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME back in 2019 and have sold over 110 million albums worldwide. That's no small feat!
The lineup is stacked, with JOE ELLIOT on vocals, PHIL COLLEN and VIVIAN CAMPBELL on guitars, RICK SAVAGE slappin' the bass, and RICK ALLEN keeping the beat on drums. And let's not forget their killer albums like "PYROMANIA" and "HYSTERIA" - classics, really.
Def Leppard's been making waves lately, too. They dropped their entire discography on streaming platforms in 2018 and have been dominating the charts since. Plus, they've racked up a whopping 15 million fans on social media and over 5.5 billion streams. Yeah, they're kind of a big deal.
Their latest album, "Diamond Star Halos," soared to the top of the charts when it came out in 2022. And who could forget when they teamed up with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for "Drastic Symphonies" in 2023? Epic stuff.
And hey, let's give a shoutout to Jason Bonham, keeping the Led Zeppelin legacy alive! You might recognize him from that killer reunion show back in 2007.
So, if you're anywhere near Salt Lake City, don't miss this epic show. It's been too long since Def Leppard rocked Utah, and tickets are flying off the shelves. Grab yours before they're gone!
